Well...It wasn't actually Christmas, but with the announcement of the new iPhone 4s yesterday, I certainly felt like it was Christmas. I have developed quite the Apple addiction and seeing as I still have an iPhone 3gs (I know, I know, it's not that old), I am feeling sort of behind the times in terms of my cellular technology.
This afternoon, my newest Web 2.0 tool, Twitter, delivered sad news directly to my Apple iPhone. Steve Jobs, Apple Co-founder, dead at 56...
Why do I think this relates to my EDES 501 course and our current events? Well, Apple technology has changed the way that I have done things at home, in my professional life and in my classroom. It has changed the way that students view and use technology and it has really transformed the world of personal devices that are always so hotly debated in the classroom.
Although it does not directly relate to Web 2.0, the impact that Apple has had on the educational world is real and Steve Jobs has been the face of that world for many years. An Apple A Day: How Steve Jobs Revolutionized Children's Education
The impact that Steve Jobs has had on the world can clearly be seen by the over a million condolences left on Apple's website, Remembering Steve.

Here's hoping that Apple continues on his legacy in a manner that continues to bring these changes to our lives and our classrooms.
